Trisha Krishnan, the renowned actor, has taken a firm stance against former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader AV Raju following his derogatory remarks against her. Raju, who was expelled from AIADMK on February 17 due to party rule violations, faced Trisha's ire after a video containing inappropriate comments about her went viral.
Expressing her disdain on social media, Trisha slammed Raju for his actions. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she stated, "It's disgusting to repeatedly see low lives and despicable human beings who will stoop down to any level to gain attention. Rest assured, necessary and severe action will be taken. Anything that needs to be said and done henceforth will be from my legal department (sic)."
Producer Aditi Ravindranath slammed AV Raju on social media. She wrote, "Shocked & disgusted by the behaviour of Ex AIADMK functionary AV Raju for making unwarranted , baseless, loose and completely false allegations about Trisha. It is 2024; we talk about women empowerment & equality - why drag an unrelated person into personal mud slinging. There are basic lines which should not be crossed. Request all the related authorities to take strict action. And to those of you making crude jokes and trolls, GET A LIFE (sic)."
Vishal, the prominent actor and general secretary of the artists association, joined the chorus of condemnation against AV Raju's derogatory remarks. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Vishal didn't mince words as he labeled Raju "a stupid idiot" for his unacceptable comments about Trisha.
In a long post, where he refused to name Trisha or Raju, Vishal wrote, “I just heard that a stupid idiot from a political party spoke very ill and disgustingly about someone from our film fraternity. I will not mention your name nor the name of the person you targeted because I know you did it for publicity. I definitely will not mention names because we are not just good friends but also mutual co artistes in the film fraternity. (sic)”
He went on to write that he hopes that the women in Raju’s home call him out, adding, “What you have done is absolutely filthy and not worth mentioning, But these particular people mean a lot personally and professionally. Honestly, I don't want to condemn you, which is an understatement, but I hope you rot in hell. (sic)” He also claimed that Raju did it just for publicity, “Of course, this has become a trend of trying to make money out of negative publicity about celebrities. Get a job, a better job. (sic)”
The actor's swift and unequivocal response underscores the industry's united stance against such derogatory behaviour, emphasising the need for accountability and respect towards fellow artists. Vishal's statement adds to the growing support for Trisha and highlights the collective effort to ensure that such incidents do not go unchallenged within the entertainment community.
The incident has sparked widespread controversy and condemnation across social media platforms. Notably, this isn't the first time Trisha has faced such inappropriate remarks. In November last year, actor Mansoor Ali Khan made objectionable comments about her during a press conference, leading to severe backlash. Despite issuing an apology later, Khan filed a defamation case against Trisha, Chiranjeevi, and Khushboo Sundar. However, several industry figures, including Lokesh Kanagaraj and Karthik Subbaraj, have voiced their support for Trisha and condemned Khan's remarks, emphasizing that such comments are unacceptable and disrespectful not only to an artist but to every woman.
