According to studio estimates issued on Sunday, the Marvel comics 3D film "Thor," about the earthly adventures of the god of thunder, sold USD 34.5 million worth of tickets over the weekend while "Bridesmaids" did USD 24.4 million in sales.The action movie "Fast Five," in its third week at theaters, had a strong showing with USD 19.5 million and came in third, leaving fourth place to the action horror flick "Priest," which opened with a disappointing USD 14.5 million."Thor," which is distributed by Paramount Pictures, a unit of Viacom Inc, opened last week with sales of USD 66 million, so its second weekend in theaters was considered strong by box office analysts because it only dropped 48%.The USD 24.4 million total for "Bridesmaids," from Universal Pictures, is at least USD 10 million higher than expectations, said Paul Dergarabedian, head of tracking firm Hollywood.com Box Office.
