In Kantara: Chapter 1 advance booking update

The wait is finally over — and fans have wasted no time showing just how much they’ve missed the Kantara universe. Advance bookings for Kantara: Chapter 1 opened in Karnataka on 26 September, and the response has been nothing short of electric.

Within just 34 minutes, the first 10,000 tickets were gone, setting a new record and proving once again the sheer pull of Rishab Shetty’s storytelling.

Cinemas across the state, from big multiplexes to old-school single screens, have lined up shows starting from 6:30 am on 2 October.

And while Hombale Films has clarified they won’t push for midnight screenings, the unusually early start times all but confirm what fans have been hoping for — special paid premieres on 1 October.

According to latest reports, as many as 2,500 premiere shows could take place across languages, from Kannada and Hindi to Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and even Bengali.

The excitement isn’t limited to India. Bookings in the USA have also gone live, adding to the frenzy.

Industry trackers note that while many fans have already secured their seats, a large chunk of the audience is holding back for premiere tickets — a sign of the scale this release is expected to achieve.

Hombale Films has pulled out all stops to ensure the prequel is bigger, bolder, and even more breathtaking than the 2022 phenomenon.

At the centre of it is an epic war sequence filmed over 45–50 gruelling days on a 25-acre set built on rugged terrain.

With 500 trained fighters, 3,000 extras, and international stunt specialists involved, it is already being hailed as one of the most ambitious battle sequences ever attempted in Indian cinema.

Ticket price range from Rs 350–Rs 550 for most seats and premium recliners at select halls going up to Rs 1,200.

The hike, permitted after the government’s ticket cap was stayed in court, will apply through the opening weekend before rates settle down. Paid premieres, insiders say, will be even pricier.

Releasing worldwide on 2 October in seven languages — including English — Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to take its myth and mystique to audiences everywhere.
