Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty have done it again. The trailer of Kantara: Chapter 1 dropped this week and within 24 hours, it smashed every benchmark in sight. With 107 million views, 3.4 million likes, and, most importantly—becoming the most shared trailer in history within a single day.
It’s not just numbers on a chart. The kind of organic buzz this trailer has generated says a lot. People aren’t just watching it, they’re forwarding it to friends, families, groups—basically everyone.
The Scale of Kantara: Chapter 1
Directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty, the film is being positioned as one of Hombale Films’ most ambitious undertakings. The prequel to the 2022 phenomenon Kantara, this chapter goes deeper into folklore, faith, and raw human emotion.
The creative team is stacked—music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, visuals by cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production design from Vinesh Banglan. And then there’s the war sequence everyone is talking about: over 500 fighters, 3,000 extras, shot on rugged terrain across 25 acres for nearly 50 days. That scale doesn’t come around often in Indian cinema.

Global Release Plans
The film is set for a worldwide release on October 2, rolling out in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and even English. Hombale Films is aiming big here, but what’s refreshing is that it’s still deeply rooted in cultural storytelling.
For now, all eyes remain on the trailer that has made digital history. As one fan put it on social media, “This isn’t just a film, it feels like a movement.”
