Elon Musk’s brother Kimbal and his friends “hated” actor Amber Heard while the pair were dating, the biography of Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson reveals shedding light on the SpaceX founder's tumultuous romantic relationships.
One of the most striking revelations in the book is the intense dislike Musk's inner circle harboured for Amber Heard during their relationship. Kimbal Musk, Elon's brother, didn't hold back, describing Heard as a "nightmare" and lamenting that Musk seemed to fall for people who were "mean and toxic."
Isaacson's biography titled “Elon Musk” portrays the billionaire as a man not bred for domestic tranquility, with most of his romantic relationships characterized by psychological turmoil.
Canadian musician Grimes, who shares three children with Musk, offered her perspective on his attraction to "chaotic evil." She mentioned that while she aligns herself with "chaotic good," Heard’s alignment might be more towards the "chaotic evil" end of the spectrum. Grimes attributed Musk's preference to his upbringing and his tendency to associate love with mistreatment.
According to the biography, Musk first noticed Amber Heard after seeing her in the movie "Machete Kills" in 2013. However, the details of their initial connection remain unclear. Johnny Depp, Heard's former partner, claimed in court that Musk and Heard began dating secretly in 2015.
Meanwhile, Heard asserted that she didn't know Musk until the 2016 Met Gala after Depp had "stood her up."
Their relationship took a public turn in April 2017 when Musk and Heard confirmed their romance on Instagram during a holiday in Australia. Yet, by August 2017, they had split, with Musk saying that they remained friends. The couple was rumoured to have rekindled their relationship later in the same year but broke up for the second time in February 2018.
Heard, in an interview, shared that her connection with Musk was rooted in "intellectual curiosity, ideas, and conversation, a shared love for science." Musk, on the other hand, described their relationship as "brutal." Both acknowledged their deep affection for each other, even though it often led to turbulent times.
Musk also admitted that he's a "fool for love" and that his romantic history reflects this tendency. He openly acknowledged his penchant for being attracted to women who may not always be the best fit for him, with his love for "fire" occasionally causing him pain.
Elon Musk shares 11 children with three different women.
