A Zomato customer, who ordered a bowl of Japanese ramen using Zomato, claims she found a cockroach in the food. Sharing pictures of the dead critter lying on the noodle soup, Agartala resident Sonai Acharya said it was a "horrific experience".
The food was ordered from an eatery called Auntie Fug's.
"Just had a horrific experience ordering from Zomato. Ordered Japanese miso ramen chicken from Auntie Fug's and found a cockroach in my meal! Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. Seriously disappointed with the quality control here. Zomato is beyond gross," Sonai Acharya wrote on X.

A screenshot shared by Acharya showed that the food delivery company had initiated a refund of Rs 320 for the order.
Responding to the post on X, Zomato replied: "Hi there, we are sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident. We want to help turn this experience around. Please allow us some time to look into (it), we'll get back to you ASAP."
The company has been facing criticism after a Zomato customer in Gurgaon moved court when the kebabs he had ordered from a Lucknow restaurant was delivered to him in 30 minutes. Sourav Mall, 24, raised questions about the validation of Zomato's rapid service that was categorised under "Legends" after he was delivered the food item in half-an-hour, when the kebab was made at an outlet 500 km away from his location.
