A man in Bihar was made to marry his mother-in-law after his father-in-law discovered their affair. The couple also underwent a court marriage, reports stated.

The incident happened in Heer Moti village of Banka. Sikandar Yadav, 45, agreed to being in a romantic relationship with his mother-in-law Geeta Devi, 55. Yadav -- who has two children -- had moved in with his in-laws after the death of his wife. During this period he and Geeta grew close to each other.

When Geeta Devi's husband Dileshwar Darve became suspicious, he investigated it and caught the couple red-handed. Darve informed the panchayat about this and even Yadav admitted that he was in love with his mother-in-law in front of the panchayat and other villagers.  Speaking to reporters, he said he had happily consented to the marriage.

Subsequently, the villagers and Darve agreed to getting them married. He also arranged for Geeta Devi and Yadav's court marriage. With the blessings of the villagers, Yadav took his bride home.

In another incident, a groom in Uttar Pradesh reportedly called off his marriage after he spotted his mother-in-law dance while smoking a cigarette during the pre-wedding festivities.

The incident happened last year in Sambhal district where the arranged marriage was scheduled to take place on June 27, Times Now reported. After arriving at the venue, the groom was apparently shocked to see his bride's mother join the festivities and dance while smoking a cigarette. As per reports, the groom immediately called for the celebrations to be halted and called off the marriage. It was followed by a dispute between the two families.

Later, however, the panchayat was called and the problem was resolved with the families eventually agreeing to proceed with the marriage.
