A wedding in Telangana was called off after the groom's family was miffed that mutton without bone marrow had been served in the non-vegetarian menu decided by the bride's side, a NDTV report said.
At the engagement ceremony, the bride's side had arranged for the non-vegetarian menu for all the guests, including their own family members and the groom's relatives. The groom's side was from Jagtiyal region of the state while the bride's side was from Nizamabad region of the state and the couple got engaged in November.
After the ceremony, the guests pointed out that mutton without bone marrow had been served to them, leading to a fight. The argument escalated further when the bride's side confirmed that mutton without bone marrow had been served to the guests at the ceremony.
Police authorities were called in to resolve the issue and the bride's family accused the groom's side that they had intentionally not informed them about the mutton not having the bone marrow. Post the argument, the groom's side decided to call off the wedding.
This is not the first instance of wedding being called off due to a bizarre reason. In February, a wedding in Hyderabad was called off after the groom found that the bride's side had given "old" furniture as dowry. He refused to come to the wedding and bride's father told media that the groom's father had misbehaved with him when he had gone to their house.
