Work-life balance and a 70-hour work-week discussion have made a comeback on social media after a video of a man in Bengaluru riding a scooter while attending a work call on his laptop went viral.

The clip shared by Peak Bengaluru on X showed the stereotyped image of India’s IT capital where it’s not uncommon to see tech professionals engrossed with work on their laptops in public spaces.

In it, the unidentified man is seen zooming through the roads with his laptop open on his lap and the details of the Microsoft Teams meeting clearly visible to the passers-by. It also sparked a debate on safe driving.

Social media users reacted with both humour and empathy for the man.

"Bro must be working for an IT company as he might be short of clocking 70 hours per week," wrote X user ThirdEye (@3rdEyeDude). "Client call and death can come at any time," added AshutoshShrivastava (@ai_for_success).

Commenting on the possible work pressure, a third user Ajay Yadav (@adcajay) wrote, "The kind of pressure people are facing these days is immense. Don't have the option to find ways like these."

"Laptop is being used as per its definition," added Srinivas Chitneedi (@srinivas2sharp), while Abhay Mittal (@AbhayM1ttal) pointed out: "Things people do with company laptop."

In a similar incident last year, a woman in Bengaluru was caught on camera working on her laptop while riding pillion on a motorcycle. “Tell me you are in Bangalore without telling me you are in Bangalore,” the video is captioned in a Reddit thread.

With a backpack on her back, she has placed the laptop on the bike seat, between her and the male rider. Immersed in her work, the woman plopped up the laptop and while the rider was wearing a helmet, she was not.
