Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has introduced a new public gallery and Garden Trail at Terminal 2, aimed at enhancing the experience of travellers both before departure and after arrival. The space, accessible to all flyers, was designed to offer a more calming and memorable environment within the busy international terminal.
The newly inaugurated area occupies part of the post-customs zone of the T2 international terminal. It features contemporary design elements integrated with extensive greenery and natural textures. The layout was intended to reflect Bengaluru’s long-established reputation as India’s “Garden City,” providing an open, light-filled setting that could help alleviate travel-related stress.
Visuals of the new gallery and trail circulated on social media and other online platforms soon after the space opened. Users who viewed and shared images of the area responded positively to the design, with many highlighting the sense of tranquility and aesthetic appeal.

Terminal 2 at KIA has already attracted attention for its eco-friendly architectural approach, which includes the use of bamboo and internally integrated landscapes. The addition of the public gallery and Garden Trail further underscored the airport’s emphasis on sustainability, artistic expression and passenger well-being.
Airport officials stated that the initiative formed part of ongoing efforts to enhance passenger comfort and to distinguish Terminal 2 as a facility that blended functional efficiency with thoughtful spatial design, although no formal press release was available at the time of writing.
