New iPhone 11 renders indicate a triangle-shaped triple camera alignment

Leaks of the next-generation iPhones continue to pour in as we get closer to Apple’s September launch event. A new report has revealed some specifications of the next iPhone and uploaded CAD renders with a 360-degrees video.

OnLeaks reported that Apple’s next iPhone would have a triple camera setup with an asymmetrical alignment of the lenses inside the camera unit. The camera unit will be a huge square-sized block that would house the three lenses and LED flash.

A website called Cashkaro has uploaded CAD renders and a 360-degree video of the iPhone XI based on the leaks. The renders indicate at a triple camera setup on the next iPhone but also give some insight into Apple’s design idea of the 2019 iPhones.

The report suggests that Apple is sticking to the big, wide notch and making minimum changes in order to make it smaller. There is no significant change in the front. Apple is said to stick to the 5.8-inch Ultra-Retina display on the iPhone XI, same like its predecessors. The new iPhones would have an aspect ratio of 19:9.

It is the back panel where most of the changes are happening for the 2019 iPhones. The renders confirm a big square bump for the camera unit at the back. Three lenses, LED flash, and a mic would house inside the camera unit. Like previous rumours, the render images show the three lenses aligned like a triangle inside the camera unit, making it asymmetrical, which is very unlikely by Apple.

Another minor but significant change is the new mute button that is placed on the left side of the smartphone. The redesigned mute button is like the one found on iPads. Apple is sticking to Lightning cable as opposed to several rumours of Type-C on iPhone XI.

Recently, Ming-Chi Kuo reputed Apple analyst stated that Apple is upgrading the front camera on the 2019 iPhones to 12MP. He stated that two 2019 iPhones would have a triple camera setup with the third sensor being a 12MP super-wide angle lens.

Sony would manufacture this 12MP/1um wide-angle lens. The lenses will be coated in black for blending the lenses with the surrounding bezels for an ‘inconspicuous’ look. The iPhone XR 2019 would have a dual camera setup, according to Kuo.
