Samsung confirms Galaxy AI features coming to these devices: All the details

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones. One of the headline acts of the flagship Samsung phones was Galaxy AI. Now, Samsung has announced that Galaxy AI will be coming to some previous generation flagship phones as well.

“Galaxy AI, the premium mobile AI experiences introduced on the recent Galaxy S24 series, will expand to the Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 foldable phones, and the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets,” said Samsung in a post on its newsroom page. The Galaxy AI features will come with the One UI 6.1 upda, Edit Suggestion and AI-Generated Wallpaper to the above-mentioned devices.

The update will begin rolling out in early May on the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy Z Flip4 and the Galaxy Tab S8 series. Under the S22 series, the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra will get Galaxy AI features. Likewise under the Galaxy Tab S8 series, the Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra will get all the AI features.

Galaxy AI: Key features

Interpreter feature converts speech into translated text on a split screen. Live Translate offers instant voice and text translations over phone calls, while Chat Assist helps users’ messages in different languages and adjusts message tone, according to Samsung.

Circle to Search with Google streamlines social media and internet interaction with a simple and intuitive gesture while Note Assist simplifies organisation tasks with auto-formatting and summarisation features, says Samsung. Browsing Assist adeptly summarises and translates articles on a webpage and with Transcript Assist, users can effortlessly create accurate meeting summaries and translations.
