Apple M2 MacBook Air is rumoured to launch later this year and a recent leak suggests that the 2021 MacBook Air will get new iMac-like colour options.
According to tipster Jon Prosser, Apple is bringing a major redesign to the upcoming M2 MacBook Air. The tipster had previously uploaded render images showing a Blue M2 MacBook Air.
Following up on the recent leak, Prosser has revealed that the 2021 M2 MacBook Air design is set to get an upgrade. Design renders uploaded by Prosser suggest that the affordable version of the MacBook will be thin and light. It will no longer have the wedge shape and instead will feature a flat design like the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. Apple will launch the MacBook Air in multiple colour options, including Blue and Green colour options.
Prosser’s video further reveals that the 2021 MacBook Air will have two USB Type-C ports. It is unclear if Apple will bring back its MagSafe charging tech to the Air model. The 2021 MacBook Pro model is tipped to get more slots than the current generation. Apple could bring back the SD card and MagSafe charging on the Pro model. It will also have an HDMI port and a total of three USB Type-C ports.
The exact display size is currently unknown. Prosser’s render images, however, do reveal that the display will have white bezels similar to the 24-inch Apple iMac introduced at the Apple event in April. Another key design change is on the keyboard front. The top row featuring the function keys are set to get bigger and a bit more spaced out. Apple is also switching from black to white keys on the 2021 MacBook Air.
Apple is rumoured to launch the MacBook Air 2021 with a 14-inch mini-LED display
. The display tech has already been introduced on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model announced at the April Apple Event
