As per the officials, Northern Railways General Manager Shobhan Chaudhuri inspected the ongoing work on the Katra-Banihal section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Line (USBRL) project on July 7.
USBRL has been declared a project of national importance and is the biggest one in the construction of a mountain railway since independence.
Noted to be the world’s highest rail bridge, it will soar 359 metres above the bed of the River Chenab and will be 30 metres higher than the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris.
