Though train services were minimal during the current financial year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this can be considered as a major achievement.
The train, which has been in Delhi for around a month, has been manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai.
Of the total production, 73 percent were stainless steel units.
The semi high-speed train, which will have 16 coaches, will cost around Rs 100 crore.
"The AC local arrived in Mumbai this morning and is parked at the Kurla car shed, where its first round of servicing and checking would be done by our technical staff," said the official.
