This comes even as the startup founders on the 360 ONE Wealth Hurun India Rich List experienced a collective wealth dip of Rs 85,000 crore amid the funding winter, according to Anas Rahman Junaid, MD and Chief Researcher, Hurun India.
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani from Mumbai city topped the list for the ninth consecutive year, registering a fortune of over Rs 6 lakh crore. New Delhi maintained its number two spot, but the number of wealthy people living there declined from 2019.
Top 100 individuals in the list account for nearly 64 percent wealth of the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List.
Being home to 217 individuals that comprise 26 percent of the list, Mumbai is the residential capital of India’s wealthy, followed by New Delhi and Bengaluru.
Mumbai among Indian cities tops the list. Mangal Prabhat Lodha of Lodha Group gets the top spot among richest individuals from the Real Estate sector, Jitendra Virwani of Embassy secures the second spot followed by Rajiv Singh of DLF.
Ambani is followed by London-based steel baron L N Mittal with assets of USD 15.9 billion.
