The companies announced the deal last June, part of a recent wave of consolidation in the wind energy industry as companies seek to rein in costs and remain competitive.
SMDPL is a joint venture between France-based EDF Energies Nouvelles and SITAC Group.

"Gamesa will deliver complete turnkey solutions for a 40 MW project in Gujarat and a 60MW project in Karnataka with supply of 20 units of G114-2.0 MW T106 and 30 units of G97-2.0 MW T104 turbines", city-based company said in a statement.
A Siemens-Gamesa joint venture would overtake Denmark's Vestas to become the world's biggest wind farm manufacturer by market share, operating in the mature North American and European markets and fast-growing markets such as India, Mexico and Brazil.
"These figures exceed the company's guidance for 2015 and enable it to step up the targets in the Business Plan for 2017 and bring them forward to 2016," the company said in a press release.
"Gamesa continues to notch up product strategy milestones having secured the first orders to supply the G114-2.0 MW turbine in India, a model for which the worldwide orderbook already stands at over 2,000 MW. Specifically, these two contracts contemplate the installation of 92 G114-2.0 MW class S wind turbines (184 MW) in India," it said.
"As per the new order, Gamesa will develop the entire infrastructure needed to operate the project with the supply, erection and commissioning of 15 units of G97-2.0 MW T104 wind turbines specially designed for low wind sites in India," it said.
To tide over the power crisis, the state government now plans to invest over Rs 67,000 crore in various generation and transmission projects; with Rs 3410 crore investment announced this month itself.

Suzlon Energy touched an intraday high of Rs 56.85 and an intraday low of Rs 53.90. At 10:33 hrs the share was quoting at Rs 56.65, up Rs 2.40, or 4.42%. Gamesa is looking at picking up majority stake in the company, quoting Sources, reports CNBC-TV18.
