The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has ordered the framing of charges in a sexual harassment case implicating former WFI Chief and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Singh. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Priyanka Rajpoot has deemed the evidence adequate to proceed with the charges against Singh.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Priyanka Rajpoot, who was scheduled to pass order on Thursday, deferred the matter after Singh moved an application before the court seeking further probe in the matter.
Despite the judge's repeated query at to what was the probe agency's stand on the application, the public prosecutor, representing police, urged the court to "try the plea as per law".
Wrestler Sakshee Malikkh accused BJP leader and former wrestler Babita Phogat for siding with the government. Sakshee and her husband Satyawart Kadian posted an 11-minute-long video on Twitter stating the 'Truth' of the wrestlers' protest against WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. They claimed that Babita Phogat & BJP leader Tirath Rana had taken permission for the wrestlers' protest but later used the wrestlers for selfish motives and tried to weaken their protest. As part of the probe, the Delhi Police has also written to wrestling federations of five nations seeking details in connection with the alleged incidents of sexual harassment by Singh, but their reply is awaited.
Earlier, police sources said the force had not found sufficient evidence in favour of the allegations levelled against Singh by female wrestlers and that it will submit the report within 15 days.

The country's top wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, have been protesting since April 23, demanding criminal action against Singh for alleged sexual harassment and intimidation of seven wrestlers including a minor.
Singh has completed 12 years as WFI chief and is ineligible to contest for another term.
