Best cities to work in: Do you know where expats get the highest salary?
In a survey released by HSBC Bank International, the financial services company has revealed which city offers the highest salary to foreign workers. Follow the list below to find out where you could earn the most.
If you’re ambitious and eager to climb the ladder in your career and earn more, consider moving to one of these cities. HSBC Bank International has ranked the highest paying cities that offer great salaries to expatriates. Here are the top 10 cities on the list as of February 2018. (Reuters)

The city that is ranked 10th on the list is the French capital of Paris. Expats are offered just a little under USD 150,000 per year. (Reuters)

The Asian city of Hong Kong takes the 9th spot and expats on average are offered a little more than the French capital, but it is still under the USD 150,000-mark. (Reuters)

In what seemed as a surprise, Jakarta took the 8th spot, as it offers expats just over USD 150,000. (Reuters)
One city that is on the must-visit list of every traveler, Los Angeles, took the 7th position and offers expats around USD 160,000 annually. (Reuters)

The Big Apple or NYC, in the US, takes sixth spot as it offers nearly USD 175,000 to expats. (Reuters)

Just ahead is Geneva, Switzerland, which is the base for some of the world’s biggest commodities traders including Trafigura Group and Mercuria Energy Group. The scenic city takes fifth place as it doles out pay check in the vicinity of USD 180,000 to foreign workers. (Reuters)

With the economy of Asian cities booming, Shanghai in China is not far behind and offers expats just above the USD 200,000-mark. The city takes fourth spot as it makes for an attractive destination for foreign workers. (Reuters)
Another city in Switzerland that attracts foreign workers is Zurich. It holds the third position on HSBC list as 77 percent of foreign workers in the city have reported that their disposable income had increased after relocating there. In fact, over half of Zurich expats reported that they are living in a better dwelling than they did back at home. (Reuters)

The second spot is secured by San Francisco which offers average annual salaries of around USD 210,000. It is also ranked the best city for expats in the US and UK. (Reuters)

And if you couldn’t guess which city would take the top spot, it is India’s financial capital of Mumbai that offers foreign workers more than twice the average annual salaries.
