In a coordinated operation involving all three armed forces, India struck nine major terror hubs across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir between May 7 and 9, killing over 100 terrorists, including high-value targets. Top defence officials, DGMO Lt General Rajiv Ghai, Air Marshal A K Bharti, and Vice Admiral A N Pramod, briefed the media on May 11, on the details of the operations, asserting India’s overwhelming military edge and commitment to precision targeting.
Air Marshal A K Bharti showcased before-and-after visuals of the strikes and a detailed missile impact video of the Muridke terror camp. “We carefully selected targets and targeted terror camps in Muridke and Bahawalpur as they are at a long distance from the border,” he said. “We used precision air munitions to carry out attacks on Bahawalpur and Muridke. The objective was to target terrorist infrastructure and not the Pakistani military.”

DGMO Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said the Indian Army had "achieved total surprise" in its operation, eliminating more than 100 terrorists at nine terror hubs. “Those strikes across those nine terror hubs left more than 100 terrorists killed, including high-value targets such as Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed that were involved in the hijack of IC814 and the Pulwama blast,” he stated.

He added, “It set into motion a very diligent and microscopic scarring of the terror landscape across the borders and the identification of terror camps and training sites. The locations that emerged were numerous, but as we deliberated more, we realised that some of these terror hubs were now bereft of presence and had preemptively been vacated, fearing retribution from us... There was also a term of reference and our own binding self-imposed restriction to target only terrorists and thus prevent collateral damage.”
Lt Gen Ghai further revealed that Indian forces also struck key Pakistani military infrastructure: “We targeted SAM sites at Malir Cantt, surveillance radar sites at Lahore and close to Gujranwala.”
According to the Indian Army, 35–40 Pakistan Army personnel were also killed at the Line of Control between May 7 and 10.

The Indian response came swiftly after waves of Pakistani drones and UAVs attempted to strike Indian civilian and military sites on the evening of May 7 and again on the night of May 8–9. “The adversary targeted our civilians and military infrastructure. Pakistan made unsuccessful attempts at striking military and civilian targets,” Indian forces said.

India’s air defences, including SAMAR weapons, Pichora guns, and Garud snipers, were deployed to bring down the incoming drones.
Vice Admiral A N Pramod underlined the role of the Navy and Air Force: “The overwhelming operational edge of the Indian Navy along with ops of Air Force and Army forced Pakistan to seek DGMO talks.”
The strikes included long-confirmed terror hubs in PoJK and Pakistan’s Punjab Province. “Nefarious places such as Muridke, the hub center of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, has over the years bred infamous characters such as Ajmal Kasab and the likes of David Headley,” Lt Gen Ghai added.

The Indian Armed Forces said that while the strikes were sharp and punitive, they remained mindful of avoiding civilian and religious casualties.
