Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s daughter Radhe Jaggi said in a post on Instagram that her father was recovering well.
“For those asking, Sadhguru is doing well and recovering quickly,” Radhe said on Wednesday.
Messages have been pouring in for a speedy recovery from followers after the founder of the Coimbatore-based Isha Foundation underwent a brain surgery on Sunday in a private hospital in Delhi. The spiritual guru had suffered a “life-threatening" bleeding in his skull and is now on track for recovery, a senior doctor at Delhi’s Indraprastha Apollo Hospital said on Wednesday.
The spiritual guru had also shared an update about his health from his hospital bed.
"The Apollo hospital neurosurgeons cut through my skull to try and find something but found nothing — totally empty. So they gave up and patched it up. Here I am in Delhi with the patched-up skull but no damaged brain," the 66-year-old guru said in a post on Instagram.
Doctors at the hospital said Sadhguru has been taken off the ventilator and his vital parameters are showing progress. The hospital said he had been suffering from headaches for the past few weeks. However, “despite the pain, he continued with his normal daily schedule and other social activities”.
As the pain became extremely severe, the spiritual guru consulted Apollo’s Dr Vinit Suri, who “suspected sub-dural hematoma and advised an urgent MRI”. After not avoiding hospitalization for two more days, he finally agreed to hospitalization on the 17th of March after which the brain surgery was performed.
Dr Suri, after the successful completion of the surgery, said, “Sadhguru is healing himself, apart from the medical measures instituted by us.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had wished the spiritual guru on twitter after the surgery. “Spoke to @SadhguruJV Ji and wished him good health and a speedy recovery.”
