A man named Gurjeet Singh Malhi has been arrested in the US over alleged possession of child porn. After his arrest, his pictures with several political leaders and with the family of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's family members surfaced, causing a political slugfest to erupt in Punjab.
Chandigarh BJP took to its X handle to demand an explanation over AAP's alleged connection with Malhi after his arrest.
"When will AAP’s so-called “revolutionaries” answer these serious questions?" BJP Chandigarh wrote. "His photos with CM Bhagwant Mann’s family are circulating publicly, along with clear links to AAP leaders like Speaker Kultar Sandhwan, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, and Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak," BJP Chandigarh's official X post further read.
The post also included a picture, showing several smaller pictures of Malhi posing with the family members of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

"A citizen of India, Gurjeet Singh Malhi, 42, was arrested during a joint federal law enforcement action in WA (Washington). Malhi has been charged by local authorities of possession of CSAM, child sexual assault material, commonly known as child porn," the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Seattle unit wrote while posting his arrest photo on X. The X post about his arrest was made on July 11.

The Congress also jumped in join the blame game and Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira took to his Facebook page to pose a question for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann “We demand an explanation from Bhagwant Mann; what is the connection of his family with a shameful criminal like NRI Gurjeet Malhi…” he wrote.
According to media reports, no reaction has yet been received from the Aam Aadmi Party on the issue.
