Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said that there is "prosperity and good governance" in the State and asserted that people of "Bihar will never return to the era of anarchy" that existed before 2005, referring to the RJD regime.

In a post on X, the JD(U) chief reached out to the voters ahead of polling for the assembly elections, saying, "You will surely remember the era before 2005, when crime and corruption were at their peak in Bihar. There was an atmosphere of anarchy everywhere. It had become difficult for people to step out of their homes."

Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday took a swipe at the opposition alliance in Bihar, and said it will collapse under the weight of its own conflicts and contradictions.

Naqvi said alliances succeed not through feudal whims but through political understanding.

"The frustrated fraternity who criticises Prime Minister Narendra Modi day and night should learn the principles of alliance politics from him. Despite the BJP securing a full majority in the Lok Sabha in 2014 and 2019 elections, Modi ji formed a government by taking his alliance partners along, and this government continues to successfully pursue the path of good governance," Naqvi told reporters.

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Tejashwi Yadav’s poll promises says, “When his parents ruled, they dragged the whole of Bihar into a pit. Tejashwi keeps promising ‘we’ll give everyone government jobs at home’ and ‘we’ll give every woman Rs 2,500’ - where will that money come from? These are tactics to lure voters; once trapped, they’ll resort to loot, kidnapping, extortion, and violence. Such promises are meant to mislead the public."

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) has expelled 11 leaders, including a former minister, for engaging in anti-party activities and defying its ideology ahead of the assembly elections. The disciplinary action was taken after the party found the leaders working against officially declared candidates and alliance partners. The expelled members have also been suspended from the party's primary membership.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate assures voters that his alliance would deliver on every promise made. Taking a dig at the NDA, he says, “no one in NDA is saying anything except abusing Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav”.

1) Margin money in PDS to be increased.

2) Regular pension for panchayat heads.

3) Rs 50 lakh insurance coverage for representatives of panchayats and Gram Kachahari.

4) Those in trades such as pottery, blacksmithing and carpentry will receive an interest-free loan of Rs 5 lakh to expand their work.

A political slugfest has erupted in Bihar ahead of assembly polls over RJD and its allies allegedly meting out shabby treatment to Muslims in distributing tickets, and also not naming any Muslim as deputy chief minister candidate.

"What does it take to say something? ...He (Tejashwi Yadav) ruined Bihar in 15 years; it took Nitish Kumar years to fix it... In 20 months, he will take Bihar back to the same position it had reached during his rule. "

Speaking to reporters,  Uttar Pradesh DGP Rajeev Krishna said, "The first and second phases of the Bihar elections have been declared. Some forces from Uttar Pradesh will also go there. A coordination meeting has been held with the Chief Secretary and DGP of Bihar. Action is being taken to ensure compliance with the code of conduct at the border." He further said that preventive measures are being implemented to avoid any illegal activities that could influence the elections.

Kishor said that the party will bring an abundance of opportunities within the State, and people won’t have to leave their hometown in search of jobs if they vote for the party in the upcoming Bihar elections.

INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday said he would make Bihar a leading state in the country by bringing in investments and setting up factories, if the opposition coalition is voted to power.

Tej Pratap Yadav, contesting from the Mahua assembly constituency as the chief of his newly formed Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), sharply criticised the pervasive use of the slogan “Bihar Ka Nayak" on hoardings featuring his younger brother. The junior Yadav, who is the declared chief ministerial candidate of the Mahagathbandhan and is contesting from Raghopur, has been at the forefront of the RJD’s campaign, but observers say his elder brother’s persistent critique risks fracturing the traditional RJD vote base

Samajwadi Party announced 20 star campaigners, including party chief Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav, to ramp up support for their INDIA bloc allies in the Bihar assembly polls. SP leader Sanatan Pandey, who is on the list, on Saturday said he will campaign for in the state and urge people to vote for the Mahagathbandhan.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Saturday,  took a sweeping jibe at the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan in Khagaria, warning the voters that if it comes to power, so will the 'jungle raj'.

Claiming that his father Ram Vilas Paswan wanted a Muslim chief minister for Bihar in 2005 but the RJD did not agree to it, LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Saturday (October 25, 2025) sought to reach out to the minority community, asking how will they get “respect” if they continue to remain a “bonded vote bank”.

Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday (October 25, 2025) claimed RJD chief Lalu Prasad arranged 178 trains for Chhath Puja when he was the railway minister, while the NDA government has announced over 12,000 special trains for the convenience of people to return home.

In an attempt to appeal to the minority communities ahead of polls, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday accused opposition INDIA bloc leaders of treating the Muslim community as a “vote bank” by portraying themselves as their well-wishers.
