Muslims houses demolished, mob lynching increased after June 4: Owaisi's all-out attack on BJP in Lok Sabha

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi launched a sharp attack on the ruling BJP as he brought to the fore the recent mob lynching incidents as well as the demolition of Muslim-owned houses.

“Since June 4, six muslims have been lynched and 11 houses in Madhya Pradesh were demolished by 'Modi's bulldozers'. A Muslim shopkeeper was looted in the state of Himachal Pradesh,” the AIMIM leader said.

Owaisi was participating in the discussion on Motion of Thanks on the President's Address in Lok Sabha.

Referring to PM Modi’s speech at Banswara election rally where he termed Muslims as ‘infiltrators’ and ‘those who produce more children’, Owaisi said that Muslims are often spoken about and discussed but are never heard.

He added that while the BJP wins elections on "hate against Muslims", the "so-called messiah” of the community (referring to Congress, which is the key Opposition party) gets "over 90% of Muslim votes" and yet the doors of the House are not opened and only 4 per cent of Muslims come to the House.

"Is this social justice that only 4 per cent of Muslims win and come (to the Parliament)... In this House, the number of OBC MPs is equal to the number of upper caste MPs and out of 14 per cent Muslims, only 4 per cent win," he said.

In the recent Lok Sabha polls, only 24 Muslims were elected to the lower house. In 2019, the number stood at 26. Of these, 21 are from the Opposition bloc INDIA, including Congress' nine. Meanwhile, NDA does not have a single Muslim MP.

“Everyone should contemplate and do introspection on why it is that the OBC and the upper caste are getting their due representation. Why are the Muslims not getting it? Are we here only to vote for you and not to get elected?” he added.

"I would like to tell the Opposition parties that this is not a moral victory for you, this is a victory of majoritarianism," said Owaisi.

Raising the topic of recent irregularities in central examination, Owaisi stated, “In the last five years of Modi regime, 75 lakh aspirants' future is hanging by a thread as six paper leaks have been reported so far,” he said.
