Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife, Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani will attend US President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20 in Washington, DC, an official familiar with the planning of the anticipated event said.

The Ambanis would have a prominent spot in the ceremony along with other notable guests, including Trump's Cabinet nominees, elected officials and high-profile business leaders from across the globe.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani will also attend a 'candlelight dinner' with Trump that will be followed by a close interaction with Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance.

Trump, who is replacing Joe Biden, would be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, along with JD Vance as the Vice President at the US Capitol. Having won a historic mandate in the November 2024 election, the 78-year-old leader is set to take oath for the Oval Office for the second time.

"The official portion of the inauguration will begin with a celebration and reception at Trump National Sterling, which will include a large fireworks display. The ceremonies will culminate with the historic swearing-in of President Donald J Trump," the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee announced.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will represent India at Donald Trump's swearing-in ceremony in the United States and will also meet representatives of the incoming Trump administration during his visit to the United States. During his visit, the EAM is also expected to engage in meetings with representatives of the incoming administration and other dignitaries attending the mega event.

The inaugural committee, led by the Trump-Vance team, has extended invitations to several world leaders including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Argentinian President Javier Milei, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele and Hungarian PM Viktor Orban. Additionally, former leaders such as ousted Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro have also been invited and expressed interest in attending, along with far-right French politician Eric Zemmour.

High-profile attendees from the tech sector include OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. Various companies, including Uber, Elon Musk's X, and The Free Press, are set to host an inauguration party in Washington.
