Delhi organ racket busted: Doctor, six others arrested; gang active since 2019, mastermind is a Bangladeshi

Police said the racket used to charge Rs 25-30 lakh for each transplant. They have been running the organ racket since 2019.

Delhi Police have arrested a doctor and six others in connection with an organ translplant racket that was busted last week. The people involved in this racket have links in Bangladesh.
Amit Goel, DCP Crime Branch, told media, "Seven people have been arrested in connection with an international organ transplant racket. The mastermind of this racket was a Bangladeshi."

 

Goel further added that both the donors and the receivers were from Bangladesh. "We have arrested a person named Russell, who used to arrange patients and donors and the lady doctor involved in the transplant has also been arrested. Further investigation is underway," he said.

"They used to charge Rs 25-30 lakh for each transplant. They have been running the organ racket since 2019," police said.

An investigation in the case is underway and further details are awaited.
