For match 49 of IPL 2019 Royal Challengers Bangalore welcomed Rajasthan Royals on their home ground of M.Chinnaswamy Stadium,Bengaluru. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rajasthan made one change, replacing Mahipal Lomror for Ashton Turner. RCB dropped Shivam Dubey and brought in Pawan Negi and Kulwant Khejroliya.

After a delay of around 2 hours, the rains finally receded. Umpires inspected the playing conditions. The playing conditions were revised and the match was reduced to a 5-over side affair with each bowling just one over and 2 overs of powerplay. The match got started at 11.26 PM IST.

Virat Kohli opened the innings with AB de Villiers and the two RCB openers hammered 23 runs off the first over of the match bowled by Varun Aaron.

Things truned dramatically in the second over as RR spinner Shreyas Gopal scalped the wickets of Kohli, de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis off successive deliveries to complete a hat-trick.

RR kept picking wickets and RCB got fours and sixes here and there as the home side finished with a total of 62/7.
