Tata Motors shares gained more than 3 percent intraday Wednesday. After a series of delays, the company has finally launched the Tiago (earlier known as the Zica) in India at Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-Delhi) today.
The all new Tata Tiago is aimed to be a modern alternative to the ageing Indica. It is available in both petrol and diesel engines with a total of eight variants.
This car will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10.
In February, Tata Motors renamed its hatchback car Zica as Tiago after the outbreak of Zika virus.
At 15:19 hours IST, the scrip of Tata Motors was quoting at Rs 376.35, up Rs 5.85, or 1.58 percent.
