OneAssist appoints Abhishek Maheshwari as CEO to drive next phase of growth

Mumbai-based consumer assistance and protection platform OneAssist Consumer Solutions has named Abhishek Maheshwari as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2025.

Maheshwari will lead overall business, strategy and P&L, and accelerate adoption of artificial intelligence across customer experience, products and service delivery, the company announced on September 24. He has also joined the board of directors.

Founded in 2011 by Gagan Maini and Subrat Pani, OneAssist offers protection and assistance solutions spanning device cover, payments security and lifestyle support. The company serves nearly 2 crore customers through more than 3,000 partners across 19,000 pin codes.

The founders said they will remain actively involved in strategic growth initiatives, including M&A and new category launches.

“We are delighted to have Abhishek join as CEO. His track record of transforming businesses through technology and his understanding of Indian consumers make him the ideal leader for our next phase of growth,” Maini said.

Maheshwari’s background

Maheshwari has over two decades of experience in scaling consumer businesses across technology, media and education. He was previously CEO of Aakash Educational Services, where he led digital transformation and expansion, and earlier served as Country Head of The Walt Disney Company India, managing a broad portfolio of media and consumer brands.

With a strong team and foundation, serving nearly 2 crore customers and robust partnerships, our focus will be to drive innovation and bring more relevant, technology-driven products to market,” Maheshwari said.

OneAssist is positioning itself to capture India’s growing InsurTech opportunity as digital adoption and awareness of protection solutions rise. The company is exploring both organic and inorganic avenues to scale its portfolio faster.
