British businessman Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia, founder of Dominvs Group in London and former owner of Euro Car Parts, has purchased an 11,416 square feet apartment at DLF’s ultra-luxury residential project The Camellias in Gurugram for Rs 100 crore, according to people familiar with the transaction.
Ahluwalia also owns a residence at Kautilya Marg in Lutyens’ Delhi.
This is the third Rs 100-crore deal at the marquee complex that has emerged as one of India’s most exclusive residential addresses.
Earlier this year, Info-x Software Technology director Rishi Parti purchased a 16,000 sq ft penthouse at The Camellias for Rs 190 crore in one of the most expensive apartment deals in India.
The project is already home to several high-profile entrepreneurs and business families and consistently ranks among the country’s priciest apartment markets. Some of these famous residents include BoAt co-founder Aman Gupta, Aakash Educational Services founder JC Chaudhry, and Elan Group promoters, alongside several start-up entrepreneurs.
The deal reflects a larger trend in Delhi-NCR’s luxury housing market, where prices for prime homes in Gurugram and Lutyens’ Delhi have surged past Rs 1.2 lakh per sq ft, bringing them at par with Mumbai’s premium neighbourhoods, narrowing the gap with international luxury hubs.
According to market analysts, prime residences in London’s Mayfair average around Rs 1.4-1.6 lakh per sq ft, while properties in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah or New York’s Manhattan range between Rs 1.2-1.8 lakh per sq ft, depending on the location.
Market observers say that nearly 15 percent of current Camellias homeowners have upgraded from DLF’s earlier premium projects The Magnolias and The Aralias.
The current deal is a primary direct sale from DLF, though the company has declined to comment. There was no immediate response from Ahluwalia regarding the transaction, and the copy shall be updated after receiving a response.
Real estate consultants say the post-pandemic shift among ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs) towards condominium living is driving this surge. Unlike standalone bungalows, gated luxury projects such as The Camellias offer access to wellness centres, curated dining, and concierge services, along with enhanced security - bringing Delhi-NCR closer to the global standard of luxury housing.
