Godrej Properties has acquired a 53 acre land parcel in Kolkata's fast-developing micro-market of Joka, near a seaside weekend getaway, the company said on November 20, and plans to develop residential plots with Rs 500 crore revenue potential.
"The proposed project is estimated to have a development potential of ~ 1.3 million square feet of saleable area comprising primarily residential plotted development with an estimated revenue potential of ~ Rs 500 crore," the company said in a statement.
Gaurav Pandey, MD & CEO, Godrej Properties said the acquisition deepens company's presence across leading cities. "We will aim to build an outstanding plotted development project in Joka that creates long term value for its residents," he added. Joka is close to the main city and is situated near the Diamond Harbour, a seaside weekend getaway.
Joka has turned into a promising residential hub in Kolkata, as infrastructure has improved. The region has IIM-Calcutta as an educational landmark, with connectivity through Kolkata Metro’s Line 3.
