Network18's Powering Bharat Summit, jointly hosted by Moneycontrol, News18 India and CNBC Awaaz, on May 16, is set to bring together some of India’s most influential voices—ranging from top decision makers to industry leaders—for a deep dive into what it would take to make India a developed economy by 2047.
The event will feature prominent names from the Union Cabinet, including Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, who will speak on India’s push into textile exports, and Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, who will address the critical issue of water security.
Also taking the stage will be Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan, who will outline how Indian flavours can serve global palates, and Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, who will chart an aviation boom. Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will make a case for how tourism can power growth.
In addition to the sectoral insights, the summit will cover a broad range of topics including steel infrastructure, shipping and ports, India's digital backbone and the growing role of women leaders in nation-building.
As India stands at a crucial inflection point in its growth story, the summit aims to recognize the foundational role played by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and autonomous government bodies in shaping the country's future. These institutions are central to India's progress in infrastructure, industrial development, education, energy security and economic transformation, yet their contributions often go underreported.
The event seeks to bring forth the larger narrative of how PSUs and government bodies are shaping Bharat’s progress, ensuring that their contributions to infrastructure, economic resilience, and social development are recognized.
