Murphy beat competition from Paul Giamatti who was nominated for "The Holdovers", Bradley Cooper, who received a nomination for "Maestro" among others to win the prestigious award.

Oppenheimer emerged as the clear favourite of the awards season, winning its seventh Oscar tonight. The picture was nominated in 13 categories.

This is the second Oscar for Stone, who has earlier won the award for "La La Land."

Nolan took home the trophy for Best Picture for Oppenheimer.

Cillian Murphy wins Best Actor award at the Oscars for his highly-acclaimed role in "Oppenheimer". This is the first Oscar for the Irish actor.

"I feel so incredibly lucky and honoured," said a tearful Eilish onstage. “This goes out to everyone who was affected by the movie and how incredible it is.” She also thanked "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig.

Eilish was nominated for her song “What Was I Made For?” from the film "Barbie," which she also performed earlier in the night.

Wes Anderson takes home the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film for 'The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar'. Anderson has been nominated eight times, but this is his first-ever Oscar win.

Hoyte van Hoytema wins Oscar for Best Cinematography for his work on 'Oppenheimer.' He was previously nominated for Dunkirk.

Writer-director Mstyslav Chernov calls it "The first Oscar in Ukrainian history." "I wish I had never made this film. I wish I could change this to Russia never attacking Ukraine," says Chernov in acceptance speech.
