The Indian stock market was trading in the red in this Tuesday morning session with the Nifty50 down 51 points, trading at 10,837 while the Sensex shed 167 points and is trading at 36,102.
Nifty Media was the underperforming sector, down 1.5 percent dragged by Zee Entertainment which shed 2 percent followed by DB Corp, Jagran Prakashan, UFO Moviez and PVR.
IT stocks were also down with loses from Infosys and Mindtree which shed 2 percent each followed by Tech Mahindra and Wipro.
From the banking space, the top losers were HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, RBL Bank and YES Bank while the top gainers were IDFC Bank and Bank of Baroda.
The top gainer from NSE include Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharma, Larsen & Toubro, HCL Tech and Power Grid while the top losers included Zee Entertainment, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro and Adani Ports.
The most active stocks were BEML, Reliance Industries, YES Bank, Infosys and Hero MotoCorp.
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited and Proseed India Limited have hit new 52-week high on NSE in this morning session.
18 stocks have hit new 52-week low including names like Compuage Infocom, Excel Realty, GTL Infrastructure, Nagarjuna Oil Refinery, Raj Rayon Industries, Shilpi Cable Technologies and SRS among others.
The breadth of the market favoured the declines with 772 stocks advancing and 781 declining while 502 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 959 stocks advanced, 885 declined and 110 remained unchanged.
