Manila awaits! Affordable new getaway for Indian travelers; Air India launches direct flight

Travel stories often begin with a moment of convenience, a new route that brings cultures closer and turns distant dreams into real experiences. For Indian travellers, that moment has arrived. Air India has launched India’s first non-stop flight from Delhi to Manila, making the vibrant capital of the Philippines more accessible than ever before.

Until now, travellers from India had to rely on connecting flights via Singapore, Bangkok, or Kuala Lumpur, routes that often took almost a full day. With this direct connection, Manila is now just a comfortable flight away.

Direct Flight Delhi to Manila

The direct service operates five times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, connecting Delhi and Manila in just around six hours. Air India CEO Campbell Wilson said, “This new route will not only enhance tourism but also strengthen trade, business and cultural exchange between India and the Philippines.”

A Gateway to the Long weekend

Upon landing at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, travellers are welcomed by warm smiles, tropical breezes and the distinct rhythm of Filipino hospitality. The city beautifully blends the old and the new. Spanish-era churches and colonial houses stand alongside glass towers, art districts and trendy cafés. For Indian tourists, Manila offers a mix of history, art, food and adventure.

Explore Manila in 5 Days

Day 1: Old Manila—The Soul of the City

Begin your journey in Intramuros, the walled city built during Spanish rule. Walk through Fort Santiago, visit the San Agustin Church, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore the elegant Casa Manila Museum for a glimpse into the country’s colonial past. End the day at Rizal Park Luneta, the city’s most iconic landmark where locals gather to unwind as the sun sets.

Day 2: Museums, Culture, and Modern Vibes

Visit the National Museum Complex to explore the country’s rich heritage through its Fine Arts and History exhibits. Afterwards, head to Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Manila’s modern urban hub filled with vibrant street murals, boutique stores, and cosy cafés. Interestingly, Infosys is the only Indian company with an office in this buzzing district. While you’re here, don’t miss tasting authentic Filipino cuisine at local restaurants, offering a perfect mix of tradition and flavour.

Day 3: Waterfall Escape Near Manila

Step outside the city for a refreshing day trip to Pagsanjan Falls, about 2.5 hours away. Glide through lush jungles in a canoe and witness the breathtaking three-tier waterfall. The Devil’s Cave promises a truly breathtaking experience.

Day 4: Shopping and Sunset Views

Spend your final day exploring Mall of Asia (MOA), one of the largest shopping destinations in Asia. In the evening, stroll along the MOA Baywalk, where live bands play and food stalls serve local favourites like halo-halo and grilled seafood. End your trip with a sunset cruise on Manila Bay, a picture-perfect farewell to the city.

Why Choose Manila?

With Air India’s new non-stop flight from Delhi to Manila, exploring the Philippines has become easier than ever. A round-trip economy ticket costs around ₹45,000, making it a convenient and affordable getaway. With budget hotels and a not-too-expensive local currency, the Philippines, Manila, is a pocket-friendly destination for Indians.

If you’ve already explored destinations like Singapore, Thailand, Bali, or Malaysia, it’s time to experience something fresh. The Philippines, Manila, promises a perfect mix of history, culture, waterfalls, beaches, bars and nightlife, all wrapped in warm Filipino hospitality.
