Jitesh Shah, the former senior executive at embattled edtech startup Byju's has now joined IPO-bouned electric two-wheeler maker Ola Electric as head of the business head of the after-sales service, charging network and customer experience at Ola Electric.
"He is responsible for smooth functioning of the service, parts network, accessories and public charging network of the brand across markets, and also the overall customer experience, including the customer support, " A source aware of the developments told Moneycontrol.
Shah will be reporting to the company's co-founder and MD Bhavish Aggarwal.
Shah was the business head of Byju's exam prep and Akash Digital, to which he resigned in December of 2023.
Ola Electric did not comment on the developments.
The appointment comes at a time when Ola Electric has been doubling down on service network centre expansion.
Economic Times reported the developments first.
At an event in Bengaluru in February, Ola Electric's co-founder and managing director Bhavish Aggarwal said that the firm will be expanding its charging and service network.
The company has also announced setting up nearly 10,000 charging units across India by April 2024.
Ola Electric has been conducting reorganisation exercises within the firm.
The company has recently appointed former Airtel CEO Manoj Kohli, Mensa Brands founder Anant Sankaranarayana, and YourStory Media’s founder Shradha Sharma as its Independent Directors.
In a pre-IPO rejig, the firm appointed Harish Abhichandani as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ola Electric. Anshul Khandelwal continues to be the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), N Balachandar is the Chief People Officer (CPO), Suvonil Chatterjee is the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Shaun William Calvert is the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Ola Electric has reported consolidated revenue of Rs 2,782 crore up nearly 510 percent in the financial year ended March 2023 (FY23) even as its net loss widened to Rs 1,472 crore on the back of an increase in its expenses.
