Colgate India Q2: Net profit rises 22.31% to Rs 340.05 crore, revenue up 6.09%

The company reported a 6.09 percent YoY rise in consolidated revenue from operations at Rs 1,462.38 crore.

    Colgate Palmolive (India) Ltd, on October 26 reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 340.05 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2023-24, up 22.31 percent from Rs 278.02 crore in the year-ago period.

    The company reported a 6.09 percent YoY (year-on-year) rise in consolidated revenue from operations at Rs 1,462.38 crore against Rs 1,378.37 crore a year ago.

    Earnings before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) in Q2FY24 stood at Rs. 482.2 crore compared to Rs 408 crore in the year ago period. EBITDA margin stood at 32.8 percent as compared to 29.4 percent in Q2FY23.

    The company has announced a First Interim Dividend of Rs. 22 (Twenty-Two Rupees Only) for each equity share with a face value of Re. 1 for the Financial Year 2023-24. This interim dividend will be disbursed starting November 21, 2023, to the shareholders listed in the Company's Register of Members/Beneficial Owners as of the Record date, which is November 06, 2023.

    The company also said in a regulatory filing that following the appointment of Mr. Niraj Kumar as the Managing Director of Colgate-Palmolive ACI Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd., covering business leadership in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, he will no longer be a part of the company's leadership team as of October 26, 2023.

    On October 26, Colgate closed at Rs 2039 on the National Stock Exchange, down 1.71 percent from the previous day.
