The Global Investors Summit is scheduled to take place in Dehradun, India's Doon Valley, on December 8-9. The event is expected to attract around 5,000 delegates from India and other countries. The Uttarakhand government has planned to showcase more than 15 investor-friendly policies, highlighting good governance measures, a supportive regulatory framework, and sustainable practices during the Summit. The agenda also includes Business-to-Business (B2B) and Government-to-Business (G2B) meetings aimed at helping investors make informed decisions.
On December 5, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with senior officials at his official residence to discuss the preparations for the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit in Dehradun. During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to ensure proper accommodation for the guests coming to Uttarakhand and to complete all preparations for the Investors Summit on time, according to the Chief Minister's Office.
During a media interaction, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, expressed his belief that the Global Investors Summit would lead to an increase in investment and employment opportunities in the state. He also stated that the event would provide a significant opportunity for the youth of the state to invest in their local area.
The Director General of Police in Uttarakhand, Abhinav Kumar, confirmed that the state had been preparing for the Global Investors Summit for several months and is expected to attract a large number of investors and industrialists from across the country and the world.
The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has officially invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the Global Investment Conference. The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, is also expected to attend the closing ceremony. Kumar assured that the Uttarakhand Police had made elaborate security arrangements for the event, with around 600 police personnel deployed for the security of the dignitaries. He expressed confidence that the police would leave no stone unturned in making the Summit a success, as envisioned by the Chief Minister.
Vinay Shankar Pandey, the Industry Secretary of the Government of Uttarakhand, has announced the opening of an Admin office that will operate 24/7 and focus on micro-level management. He expressed confidence that the initiative will be successful.
During the Destination Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit, MoUs worth Rs 40,423 crore were signed at the Uttarakhand Energy Conclave, which was held at the Secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The Chief Minister highlighted the immense potential for growth in the energy sector in Uttarakhand and acknowledged its significant contribution to the state's development. He also mentioned that the state government is making continuous efforts to attract more investment. To this end, the government has simplified many policies and introduced 27 new policies based on feedback from industry experts.
