Delhivery on February 7 announced the appointment of Vani Venkatesh as its Chief Business Officer. The logistics service provider said the appointment of the former Global CEO of Airtel will be effective from February 28.

Previously, Vani Venkatesh worked in multiple roles over 8 years at Airtel. She served as the CEO of the telecom company for the Delhi NCR region for 3.5 years from March 2019. She later took over as the CEO of its Global Business in September 2022. Before Airtel, she worked at Abbott Nutrition, McKinsey & Company and Hindustan Unilever.

Delhivery said Vani will lead its key business units including the core transportation businesses (Express parcel and Part-truckload) and the supply chain services division. She would also head the client servicing and marketing functions.

"Vani is a seasoned leader with experience across world-class organizations. Her experience of running a complex business in a dynamic market environment will strengthen our management team enormously," said Sahil Barua, Managing Director and CEO of Delhivery.

"I am excited to join Delhivery and be part of an organisation that has redefined the logistics industry in India. I look forward to working with Delhivery’s talented management team and leading the mandate to grow the business," said Vani Venkatesh.

Notably, the company’s previous CBO Sandeep Kumar Barasia had resigned in May, which became effective from July 1. He was a key member who helped the company's IPO. During his tenure, the company entered new business segments of Supply Chain Services, Truck Load, and Cross-Border logistics and significantly diversified its revenue base.

"I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in the journey of Delhivery as it went from a start-up to India’s largest logistics player, achieving several firsts in the industry. I am proud of what has been accomplished so far and am confident of the continued success of Delhivery in the future" Barasia had said.
