Expanding operations in Poland, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched a new delivery centre in the capital Warsaw, India biggest IT services company said in a statement on September 20.
The Tata group firm expects to double its workforce at the centre to more than 1,200 in a year to support its growth in the region, the statement said. Located in the heart of the city, the new delivery centre showcases TCS’ capabilities across industries and technologies.
“Poland is a strategic location for TCS, and we are proud of our long-standing commitment to the region. For nearly 20 years, TCS has been establishing solid partnerships with prominent Polish and global companies. Our decision to invest and scale our presence demonstrates our faith in the Polish economy and the exceptional talent available here to support our customers across the world,” Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, head of Europe, TCS, said.
Poland has one of the largest European technology talent pools and the centre will tap into the growing Polish Information and Communication Technology (ICT) talent pool to support the needs of customers in niche technology skills and cognitive business and domain processes, TCS said. “It forms a part of TCS’ European delivery network, which facilitates the delivery of hyper-connected services to its customers across Europe,” he said.
This centre will also help the Indian IT firm tap into the growing technology requirements of Europe as it focusses on ambitious growth targets for digital skills, infrastructures and business capabilities by 2030 to uphold the region’s competitiveness.
TCS set up operations in Poland in 2006 and its presence in the region has continued to strengthen since then, the statement added.
The TCS stock ended the day on Rs 4,285.65 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.24 percent from the previous close.
