Country’s largest IT services major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has started rolling out annual salary increments to its employees effective from September 1. Majority of the staff received between 4.5 to 7 percent hikes, sources privy to the development told Moneycontrol.

The top performers received over 10 percent hike, the sources said. TCS’ wage hike cycle usually starts by April 1 every fiscal year; this time it was delayed by over a quarter amid macroeconomic uncertainties and challenging business environment.

Last month, the company had said that it will be rolling out increments for about 80% of its workforce this year.

TCS is yet to respond to the queries sent for an official comment.

Moneycontrol had earlier reported that hikes will be rolled out for junior-to-mid-level employees, that would cover the 80 percent majority mentioned. The company had said that the eligible associates in grades up to C3A and its equivalent levels will see a revision in compensation.

This comes a little over a month after Moneycontrol had exclusively reported that TCS will be letting go of 2 percent of its workforce, or roughly over 12,200 employees, over the next year, in a bid to become more agile and future-ready amid rapid disruptions in technology.

This ongoing move will be impacting employees across countries and domains in which it operates and will happen through the fiscal year 2026 (April 2025 to March 2026). Most of these employees will be in the mid- to senior-level roles.
