Marico announces key leadership changes as Sanjay Mishra quits

Vaibhav Bhanchawat, presently serving as COO – South East Asia & South Africa, will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer – India & Foods Business, effective from October 1, 2023.

Consumer goods company Marico Limited on September 11 announced leadership recast at the top deck. Sanjay Mishra, who is now the chief operating officer (COO) for India business and CEO of new business, has stepped down with effect from September 11.

Mishra's last date of working will be December 15, 2023, subject to service rules of the company.

Vaibhav Bhanchawat, who is the COO for South East Asia and South Africa, will take on as the COO for India and Foods Business from October 1, the company said in an exchange filing. In this capacity, Bhanchawat will oversee sales, manufacturing, supply chain, and the food business in India.

Bhanchawat, who joined Marico in 2020 as the executive vice-president and business head for South-East Asia, has played a pivotal role in reshaping Marico's SEA business. He introduced an efficient Go-to-Market Model, spearheaded key transformational projects, and expanded the product range in the area.

Ashish Goupal, currently serving as the chief operating officer for Marico Bangladesh, MENA and New Country Development (NCD), will be appointed as the CEO of international business. He will assume the role of leading all Marico's international regions, including South East Asia and South Africa, starting October 1.

Under Ashish's guidance, Marico Bangladesh achieved a significant business benchmark of Rs 1,000 crore. Additionally, the company garnered numerous industry awards for its top-performing brands, exemplary corporate governance, and CSR initiatives in Bangladesh.
