GSEDPL has secured the LoA from Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited to execute the smart metering project in the Dakshinanchal, Agra and Aligarh zones. The project encompasses the installation, integration, and maintenance of 25.52 lakh smart meters, the company has informed.
The total contract value, inclusive of GST, for the Agra and Aligarh zones is approximately Rs 2,469.71 crore. The project is expected to span 27 months from the contract's execution date, with an operational period of 93 months.
Previously, GSEDPL had informed the receipt of a Letter of Intent (LOI) on July 13, 2023, indicating its commitment to install 75.69 lakh smart meters across various zones of Uttar Pradesh.
This included zones under Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PuVNL) and Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited.
On September 3, 2023, the company shared news of being awarded the LOA by PuVNL for the installation of 50.17 lakh smart meters in the Varanasi, Azamgarh, Prayagraj, and Mirzapur zones.
The LOA's issuance is the culmination of an e-tender process conducted by UP Discoms for various areas of Uttar Pradesh. GSEDPL successfully participated in the e-tender and emerged as the winner.
The advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) project is comprehensive, encompassing supply, installation, integration, commissioning, and operation & maintenance of smart meters on a DBFOOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Own, and Transfer) basis.
