Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India, introduced a new fare plan in four categories namely Xpress Lite (cabin baggage only fares), Xpress Value (15 kg check-in bag fares), Xpress Flex (unlimited changes with no change fees), and Xpress Biz (business class seating with complimentary Gourmair meals and priority services).
Air India Express, in a statement, said, “With the launch of this service, travellers now have the option to personalise their trip aligning with “Fly As You Are”.
Here are the details on the four categories introduced by Air India Express:
Xpress Biz fares are available on all the new Air India Express Boeing 737-8 aircraft, as a Business Class equivalent that disrupts the traditional LCC model with a hybrid offering.
Biz Seats offer an enhanced travel experience with plush, recliner seats with a seat pitch of up to 58 inches and no middle seats in this cabin class.
In the process of its rapid fleet expansion, Air India Express is inducting nearly 4 new aircraft every month with the Biz configuration, with approximately 4 to 8 Biz seats in each aircraft.
Xpress Biz fares are available on all the new Air India Express Boeing 737-8 aircraft, as a Business Class equivalent that disrupts the traditional LCC model with a hybrid offering. Biz Seats offer an enhanced travel experience with plush, recliner seats with a seat pitch of up to 58 inches and no middle seats in this cabin class.
Passengers will be allowed to carry an increased baggage of 25kg for domestic flights and 40kg for international flights when booking Xpress Biz fares.
Xpress Biz passengers can also choose from selection of Gourmair hot meals or Lite Bites on short sectors and enjoy complimentary Xpress Ahead priority check-in, baggage, and boarding services.
Air India Express' managing director Aloke Singh said."Air India Express will take delivery of three new aircraft every month and one additional aircraft every other month in 2024, and our five-year plan is that we will go to a fleet size of about 180 aircraft by the end of 2028," Singh told Moneycontrol. In total, the airline will take delivery of 42 aircraft in 2024.
