Buy HDFC Bank, United Spirits, VIP Industries: Ashwani Gujral

Ashwani Gujral of ashwanigujral.com told CNBC-TV18, "United Spirits is showing follow through, so that is a buy with a stop loss of Rs 3,090, target of Rs 3,200. HDFC Bank that is also showing follow through on the upside, so that is a buy with a stop loss of Rs 1,790, target of Rs 1,840. In fact this could close at the highs of the day. VIP Industries is a buy with a stop loss of Rs 285, target of Rs 301."

"My view is that Yes Bank seems to have bottomed out with those results. Today it is actually higher 2.5 percent. So the long-term guys who like to buy bad news, this is a decent time for them to get in. As Bank Nifty moves higher, things will tend to recover even here. So maybe Rs 290 is a good stop loss and we should get back to previous highs at some point," he said.

"HDFC has declined from Rs 1,800 down to about Rs 1,650-1,700. So this is a buying zone. I do not think you can say that same for Wockhardt, because the sector is fairly choppy and the stock has often shown inconsistent results."

"So if I have to choose between the two, I would probably choose HDFC for a ride back up to Rs 1,800. Wockhardt I think will still remain range bound between Rs 550 and Rs 700," he added.
