Parliament approves interim budget, completes the process for Budget 2024-25

The bills were returned to Lok Sabha following Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's response to the discussion. On Wednesday, the Lok Sabha passed these bills.

The Budget process is complete now that the Rajya Sabha has returned all of the money bills to the Lok Sabha.

Parliament passed the interim budget for 2024-25 on February 8, with the Rajya Sabha returning the Finance Bill 2024 and the associated appropriation bills. The Upper House also returned appropriation legislation for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The bills were returned to Lok Sabha following Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's response to the discussion. On Wednesday, the Lok Sabha passed these bills.

The Rajya Sabha returned the following bills: the Appropriation (Vote on Account) Bill, 2024; the Appropriation Bill, 2024; the Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2024; the Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation Bill, 2024; and the Finance Bill. The Budget process is complete now that the Rajya Sabha has returned all of the money bills to the Lok Sabha.
