Regular and Direct options of the funds are exactly same except commission to your mutual fund broker/distributor. As an investor you do not need to pay any additional fees to purchase any of these options. However both have different expense ratios. Regular funds have higher expense ratio and direct funds have lower expense ratio. This difference is because of commission paid to broker/distributor. Scheme Objective

to generate capital appreciation and provide long-term growth opportunities by investing in companies expected to benefit by providing products and services to the growing consumption needs of Indian consumers, which in turn is getting fuelled by high disposable income. The Scheme also seeks to generate income by investing in debt and money market securities.

If sold after 1 year from purchase date, long term capital gain tax will be applicable. Current tax rate is 12.5%, if your total long term capital gain exceeds 1.25 lakh. Any cess/surcharge is not included. If sold before 1 year from purchase date, short term capital gain tax will be applicable. Current tax rate is 20%. Any cess/surcharge is not included in the 20%.
