Designer Manish Malhotra's Diwali bash was quite a stellar one. It goes without saying that who's who of Bollywood dressed in their finest outfits to shine and stand out. Actor Suhana Khan was also seen draped in a beautiful purple saree. The sequin work, her lustrous wavy hair, her minimal makeup - everything about her look exuded grace. However, it was the borders of the saree that elevated the attire to another notch. Yes, the border of the saree was made using old borders that the designer had saved over so many years.
The actress posted pictures of herself in the new saree and wrote, "A little vintage, a little recycled in @manishmalhotraworld 💜" Talking about the look, Suhana's stylist Ami Patel labelled it as 'mindful luxury'. Come to think of it, it is the border of the saree that elevates its look so much and it has been made from old pieces. Wonderful, right? What a beautiful way to create a new garment while using old elements, right? After all, old is gold.

It is looks like these that inspires one to revisit one's wardrobe, take a deeper look and see what new can be made while using something old and timeless. One doesn't necessarily have to run after new attire always. A lot can be recreated by putting old things to use. Just like how Suhana's saree border was made, you too can get the embroidery work of a lehenga or saree on a brand new jacket. It's all about putting one's imagination to good use. Do you agree?
