With the change in season, it's time to take out your sandals and flip-flops. But it is also the time you pay extra attention to your feet. With a few simple home remedies, you can keep your feet happy and healthy all summer long.

During the summer months, our feet are exposed to various factors that can lead to dullness and discomfort. Excessive heat, sweating, and prolonged exposure to the sun can cause dryness, roughness, and even sunburn on our feet. It is important to address these issues and take proactive steps to keep our feet looking and feeling their best.

Here are home remedies for happy feet:

Scrub-scrub baby: Use a homemade foot scrub made with sugar or coffee grounds to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and promote circulation. Focus on areas prone to dryness, such as heels and the sides of the feet.

Butter it up: After exfoliating, apply a rich moisturiser or foot cream to keep your skin hydrated and supple. Look for ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, or glycerin to lock in moisture and prevent dryness.

H2O to go: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body and skin hydrated from the inside out. Proper hydration helps prevent dryness and maintains the elasticity of your skin.

Sun protection for your soles: Apply sunscreen to your feet before heading outdoors to protect them from harmful UV rays. Don't forget to reapply sunscreen every few hours, especially if you're swimming or sweating.

Soak away your stress: Add Epsom salt to warm water and soak your feet for 15-20 minutes. The magnesium in Epsom salt helps soothe tired muscles, reduce inflammation, and soften rough skin

Keep your shoe game strong: Choose shoes that provide adequate support and cushioning to prevent blisters, calluses, and other foot problems. Avoid wearing tight or ill-fitting shoes that can cause discomfort and rubbing.

Minty fresh feet: Treat your feet to a refreshing foot soak with cool water and a few drops of peppermint or tea tree oil. This will help reduce swelling, soothe tired feet, and provide relief from the summer heat.
