Shruti Haasan has always been honest about her choices in life, be they professional or personal. The actress didn’t shy away from admitting recently in an interview with THR India that she has paid the price for being truthful. However, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
The actress, who has been part of films such as Vedala, Welcome Back, and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, revealed in the chat, “If you are not honest, they rip you to shreds.” While she has received love and respect for speaking up, there has been no dearth of trolls mocking her life choices.
Shruti talked about the time she opened up about undergoing plastic surgery. “When I spoke up, I got comments like, 'Oh, yeh to plastic surgery ki dukaan hai' (Oh, she is all plastic). But I know what and how much I have done, and how much more others have. That's the price you pay for honesty. It is okay. I never promote it. This is my choice and my life.”

“In love, in life, in work, fingers will always be pointed at you for blowing the whistle or speaking the truth or calling something out for what it is. But what a good price to pay,” she added.
When speaking about how people around her react to some of her choices, Shruti said, "This is a legacy worth building — truth. People love me for who I am, so they are not surprised.”
Shruti also shared that she has led a happy life because she is absolutely non-judgmental about people’s choices, and so remains unfazed when they have something to say about hers.

“I have zero opinions about other people’s choices and lives. What I say is only about me. And you can’t disagree with my life. Even for my work, I stand by my choices, even though some of them may not have worked.”
On the professional front, Shruti Haasan’s film Coolie, starring South superstars Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, is doing well in cinemas. The actress is set to appear next in Train alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Salaar: Part 2.
